Usedom Island – gentle Baltic Sea and tranquil coastal diversity: Shallow lagoon waters, quiet bays, and fine sandy beaches characterize the landscape. The Baltic Sea around Usedom is home to herring, flounder, jellyfish, crabs, and occasionally even seals. Many species develop their young in the brackish lagoons and shallow water zones – a sensitive ecosystem that needs peace and protection. But even here, plastic, overfishing, and climate change threaten the fragile underwater world. Protecting this unique habitat is essential for biodiversity.

Our mission: recover ghost nets - save oceans

Millions of tons of plastic float through our oceans—including countless so-called ghost nets: lost or intentionally sunk fishing nets that continue to kill fish. Together with partners like Healthy Seas, we recover these nets, saving marine animals and habitats.
