step by step: your DIY bracelet made of fishing net

Our step-by-step instructions and our video tutorials show you how to use your BRACENET DIY KIT to easily make your own individual bracelet from fishing net in just a few steps and how to help protect our oceans through creative upcycling.

This is how it works: step-by-step instructions

preparing the network

  1. Clean the net: Rinse the net you found thoroughly with water and let it dry. If you ordered a DIY KIT including the net, we have already done this for you.
  2. Cutting the net: Cut a piece of the net that is slightly longer than your wrist circumference.

Take measurements and cut

  1. Measure your wrist: Wrap a tape measure or shoelace around your wrist and note the length.
  2. Adjusting the net: Cut the piece of net about 1 cm longer than the measured length.

Fastening fasteners

  1. Prepare closures: Choose the stainless steel twist cap (black, rose gold or silver).
  2. Threading the net: Thread one end of the net through the twist lock, fuse the ends together with a lighter and press lightly to prevent fraying.
  3. Attach other end: Repeat this process with the other end of the net and the second part of the twist lock.

finalize the bracelet

  1. Adjustment: Try on the bracelet and adjust the ends as needed.
  2. Secure the ends: Make sure both ends are firmly anchored in the fastener.

Wear and enjoy

  1. Closing the twist lock: Twist the two lock parts together until they are firmly connected.

Do I have to collect fishing nets myself for the DIY KIT?

No, we offer the BRACENT DIY KITS WITH and WITHOUT a net - depending on whether you want to use your own net find or prefer to use a prefabricated piece of net from us. For DIY KITS including a net, you currently have the choice between two different net colors ( Baltic Sea or Mediterranean Sea ). You get 30 cm of net for each screw cap supplied.

Which closures are included?

Our BRACENET DIY KITS are available with twist locks in black, silver or rose gold. You can choose whether you need 1, 2 or 3 locks. Each kit contains one of the lock colors mentioned; a color mix is ​​not possible (at present). If you choose a kit including a net, you will receive approx. 30cm of net for each included twist lock.

What net colors are available?

We are currently offering our BRACENET DIY KITS including net with the Baltic Sea or Mediterranean Sea nets. For each screw cap supplied, you get a piece of net approx. 30cm long. If you collect nets washed up on the beach yourself and use our DIY KIT - Your Net , which only includes the number of caps you want, there are no limits to your imagination and choice of colors.

What materials do I need?

Our BRACENET DIY KITS contain, depending on the model, 1, 2 or 3 twist clasps in a color of your choice (black, silver or rose gold) and a corresponding number of net pieces (30 cm each). Our DIY KIT - Your Net contains only the number of clasps you want, with which you can make a completely individual bracelet from your own net find. A size scale is also included. All you need is a pair of scissors and a lighter.
