The Iberian orcas are threatened – help us!
The Iberian Orca Guardians Foundation, founded by Sarah Connor and Janek Andre , is dedicated to the protection and conservation of the critically endangered Iberian orcas. These majestic creatures inhabit the Strait of Gibraltar from April to September, and their population is threatened by human retaliation, illegal fishing practices, and habitat destruction.
Their mission is to protect orcas and raise awareness of the challenges they face.
Through active patrols, reconnaissance and conflict resolution, they ensure
that humans and orcas can coexist peacefully.

Why the Iberian orcas?
The Iberian orcas are widely misunderstood and often falsely portrayed as a threat to sailors. The Iberian Orca Guardians Foundation works to correct these misconceptions and protect the orcas through patrols, public education, and assistance to sailors in orca-populated waters. Its goal is to promote a future where humans and orcas can coexist peacefully.
Join us in protecting these majestic creatures and their natural habitats.
In this blog post, you'll get a personal insight into what it was like meeting Sarah Connor and Janek Andre. 💙

on land and at sea
The foundation operates in Spain, Morocco, and Portugal, combining direct action with educational work and advocacy. Whether through patrols on the water, discussions with the media, or supporting sailors, they strive to create a future where orcas can live in their natural environment.
They work with marine biologists, conservationists, and local communities to ensure that we protect not only the orcas, but also the entire ecosystem.
And we think that’s great!
