Gulf of Bothnia – a unique habitat in the northern Baltic Sea

The Bothnian Bay , the northernmost part of the Baltic Sea between Sweden and Finland , is a special and fragile habitat. The mixture of fresh and salt water creates unique conditions for numerous fish species, seabirds, and other marine life. At the same time, this area is heavily impacted by fishing, shipping, and environmental changes.

The fishing net for this Bracenet was found in the Bothnian Gulf and brought back from a holiday. From this material, something new is now being created – a small symbol of how something valuable can be made from discarded materials in the sea.
