Beeswax Wrap Design Competition
Grab your pen, brush or graphics tablet and show us what design you have in mind for our special beeswax wrap edition! The only requirement: it must be about ghost nets. You can prepare and upload your ideas until July 27th. Afterwards, the best designs will be submitted to a public voting phase from July 29 to August 5. Whoever wins will be mentioned by name wherever the wrap is presented – and will, of course, receive their own wrap with the winning design. We are looking forward to your ideas and wish you good luck!
Your design
Submit your Ghost net design. Make sure that your file is 30cm x 30cm and not larger than 10mb. It has to be a pattern from which a repeat can be created. Use a TIFF, Jpg or PDF. (If you have the possibility, create it directly as a rapport size. But this is not a must).
Fighting plastic together!
gaia and Bracenet are united in their mission to fight plastic waste: while we recover it from the oceans, gaia tackles the problem at its source. Now we join forces – with a beeswax wrap that draws attention to the problem of ghost nets. What will the wrap look like? It’s in your hands!
Sustainability – Handmade in Hamburg
gaia and Bracenet are both start-ups committed to sustainability and producing by hand in Hamburg. Among other things, gaia manufactures beeswax wraps as an alternative to aluminium foil and plastic cling film, entirely from natural materials. Bracenet retrieves ghost nets from the oceans and processes them into products such as bracelets and dog leashes, which set a public statement against plastic waste.
